TENDER FOR OPERATING FOREX COUNTER IN THE SECURITY HOLD AREA OF DOMESTIC TERMINAL OF COCHIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

CIAL invites tender for selection of a FOREX operator for the allotment of licence for operation of one FOREX Counter at Domestic Terminal Security hold area [T1] as mentioned below.

  1. The successful bidder shall buy & sell Foreign & Indian currency from passengers. All rules related to FERA/FEMA / RBI /Customs rules & act will be applicable.

 

  1. The tenure of Licence will be for 3 (Three) years.

 

  1. Air –conditioned space will be provided for the FOREX outlet. The details of the available locations are as given below:

  1. Eligibility-: Organization/Institutions who are Full Fledged Money Changers [FFMCs] or who are included under Authorized Dealer Category- I/II / III by RBI are eligible for participating in the tender process.

 

  1.  EMD:- The tender shall be accompanied by an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One lakh only), in the form of Demand Draft favouring “Cochin International Airport Limited” payable at Ernakulam/ Nedumbassery.  The tenders without Earnest Money Deposit shall be summarily rejected.

 

  1. The licence for operation of FOREX counter will be awarded to the highest bidder. The bidder shall bid for an amount equal or higher than the minimum bid amount to qualify for the bidding process.

 

  1. The tender document will be issued on payment of Rs 1180/-(non-refundable) by bank transfer/ demand draft favoring Cochin international Airport Ltd, payable at Ernakulam on any working day between 9.30 hours to 16.00 hours (IST) up to 26th February 2024 from the Commercial department of Cochin International Airport.

 

  1. Security Deposit:-In the event of making provisional allotment, the successful bidder shall deposit with CIAL, an amount equivalent to ten times the monthly licence fee quoted as Interest free security deposit for the faithful performance of the terms and conditions of the Licence agreement to be entered into with CIAL.

 

  1. The successful bidder shall obtain necessary security clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) prior to commencement of the licence, to operate in the Domestic Departure SHA area. If such clearance is not obtained, then CIAL reserves the right to cancel the allotment.

 

  1. The last date of submission of tender is 27th February 2024,3:00 pm
