Shri. Bishwanath Sinha IAS

Shri. Bishwanath Sinha is the Chief Secretary of the Govt. of Keralam and a 1992-batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Keralam cadre. A native of Bihar, he holds a postgraduate degree in Geography from the University of Delhi. He began his career as an Assistant Collector and has since held several key administrative positions in the Government of Keralam and the Government of India.

During his distinguished career, Shri. Sinha has served as District Collector of Kottayam and Kozhikode, Deputy Inspector General in Wayanad, and Managing Director of the State Co-operative Bank. He has also held senior positions in the Public Works, Sports and Youth Affairs, and General Administration Departments of the Government of Keralam. At the Government of India, he served in the Ministry of Textiles and as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. He also served as Resident Commissioner, Kerala House, New Delhi. Shri. Sinha subsequently served as Principal Secretary in the General Administration and SC/ST Welfare Departments and as Additional Chief Secretary in the Finance and Home & Vigilance Departments. His professional experience also includes training in social policy and governance, infrastructure finance and urban development. With over three decades of experience in public administration across the State and Central Governments, Shri. Sinha assumed charge as Chief Secretary of the Govt. of Keralam in July 2026.
