With the Centre’s endorsement given to airlines and airport operators to operate 60%domestic services becoming effective, Cochin International Airport Ltd (Cial) has announced the winter schedule which will start from Sunday. As per the schedule, which will be effective till March 27, 2021, Cial would facilitate 460 weekly domestic operations. While there will be more domestic flights compared to last few months due to the relaxation in pandemic restrictions, the international sector will continue operations based on the International Air Bubble agreement between India and respective countries by adhering to Covid-19 guidelines of both countries.
In the domestic sector, cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Mysuru, and Kolkata will be served with direct flights to and from Kochi. There will be stopover operations from Jaipur and Guwahati to and from Kochi.
There will nine flights to Delhi and five to Mumbai daily. There will be eight and four services to Bengaluru and Chennai, respectively every day. Indigo will operate a Kochi-Kannur flight at 6.25pm on all Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.As per Air Bubbles schedules, there will be 66 each arrival and departure operations to and from Kochi in the international sector. Most number of international operations are scheduled between Kochi and Dubai (39 to and fro) followed by Sharjah (22) and Muscat (18). Besides the gulf countries, international flights are operated to London, Male and Singapore based on the visa guidelines of respective country.
