The employees of Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) donated Rs. two crores to Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.The annual day celebration of Cochin Airport which was slated to be held on 25th May had been called off in view of the pandemic situation and the company decided to donate the amount marked for celebration to CMDRF. The employees as a gesture of their support contributed their share; together making the amount to Rs. 2.019 Cr. Apart from this, the Company’s Managing Director contributed Rs. 2 lakhs. The contributions were handed over to the Chief Minister.Earlier CIAL had contributed Rs.10 Cr. each during 2018 and 2019 to CMDRF from its CSR fund to support the State Government’ efforts to mitigate the casualties during floods, while its employees donated Rs.2.93 Cr. during 2018. The company had also given Rs.5 Cr to CMDRF during Ockhi cyclone.
